Layout was and used that to design my own.
I then used that plot as a general idea for the lighting for the panto.
I took time, out off lessons to come into the theatre and testing out any ideas about the lights I had during the week. One off the things I really wanted to use to there fullest were the moving lights, I really wanted to use the movers properly but in a right place for the panto, due to there range of effects and how they really help with interaction with the audience. I also dicided how some lights should be position and we're the gobos should go.
The rest of the stuff was done during the tech week. During the tech week I was able and fortunate to work alongside Luis the technical manager and we're able to programme the board from scratch but using my ideas and and positions of the lights , I was able to rig and programme and focus independently, I really enjoyed the experience and working with a technical manager. I believe that my work really helped as it added an extra level of lighting to the show, but also allowing the performers to work in the space earlier then normally posible.
Overall lighting for the panto was a good challenging experience and also allowed me to increase my rigging and programming skills and increase my knowledge of lighting. I would like to have this opotunity again and would like to design another lighting plot for another show.
Jack has set himself a very high standard and has grown on this each time he works on a production. Your lighting design work shows an excellent understanding of lighting requirements in the pantomime genre and you utilised the lighting at your disposal to its maximum opportunities. You built a strong relationship with the technical director and you worked well alongside him to create a very good lighting design.
